Payment is due at the time of service. At this time, TCC is unable to take insurance.

Our rate for a 40-50 minute session is $70. We do not work with couples or families at this time.

If you are unable to pay your full amount or the amount would be a financial burden on you, please reach out anyway. There are some alternative options we can explore together.

We do not provide services/documentation for any of the following:

1. ESA (Emotional Support Animals)
2. Custody Evaluations
3. Gender reassignment
4. Gastric Bypass/Weight Loss Surgery
5. Comprehensive Psychological Evaluations, but I will make an appropriate referral as needed.
6. Disability Services (i.e disability review)

Sessions are generally scheduled for once a week for 45-50 minutes. If you and your provider feel that more or less frequent visits are needed, you will decide together what works best for your individual treatment goals. It is impossible to determine the exact length of time that your treatment will take, as there are a variety of factors. Open and honest communication is vital to establishing a therapeutic relationship that is ever growing and evolving.

Your session is where the majority of your counseling is to take place. We have provided you information in this document on crisis options if you feel you are in a mental health crisis. E-mail, texting, and social media are not appropriate methods of counseling. Your provider will let you know the methods and/or policies they have for in-between session contact.

Due to the nature of outpatient counseling, we are not available for on the spot crisis situations. It is important to know that we may not ready be available to take your call. You may leave a message and we will return your call within 24-48 hours. If you are in immediate danger or having thoughts of hurting yourself, please call 9-1-1, 9-8-8, Text “HOME” to 741741 or go to your nearest emergency room.

The above mentioned hotlines are open 24/7/365 and you will be able to talk with a trained volunteer counselor who can help you through the intensive moment.

The law protects the privacy of all communications between a client and a therapist. In most situations, TCC and your provider can only release information about your treatment to others if you sign a written authorization form that meets specific legal requirements imposed by HIPAA.

However, we may disclose information to a third party in the following situations:

* If you are reasonably suspected to be in imminent danger of harming yourself or someone else.

* If you give explicit, written permission for me to disclose information to a third party

* If you disclose abuse or neglect of children or vulnerable adults we are a required reporter and must report this to the proper authorities.

* Upon the issuance of a court order or lawfully issued subpoena.

* If you disclose sexual misconduct by another therapist

This is not an exhaustive list. Your provider will discuss with you in instances in which confidentiality may be broken, and in each case only the minimal information needed will be shared.

We are legally required to keep appropriate records of the therapeutic interventions and services we provide. Your records are kept in a HIPAA and HITECH-compliant platform. As my client, you have a right to request a copy or to review your clinical record.

If there are parts of your record that your provider feels would be inappropriate to release, they will be redacted. This can include information about other individuals that have not provided their consent for the release of information. You will be provided a written letter explaining why certain parts of the records are being redacted. Records are the property of TCC.

You may request a copy of your records be sent to another mental health or medical professional. You are encouraged to speak with your counselor if you would like to request a copy of your records.

These records are confidential pursuant to certain legal and ethical limits as outlined by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

In the event, your counselor is no longer able to provide services either due to untimely death, or they are found to be incapacitated for an extended period, or are unable to practice for whatever reason, the custody of your records will be transferred to another provider within The Counseling Cove LLC.

The Counseling Cove LLC utilizes a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform to offer telehealth sessions. Telehealth counseling has potential benefits including easier access to care and the convenience of meeting from a location of your choosing. There are also potential risks to using telehealth counseling including interruptions, unauthorized access, and technical difficulties. 

Other potential risks include but are not limited to to the therapist’s inability to make visual and olfactory observations of clinically or therapeutically relevant issues such as: your physical condition including deformities, physical or medical conditions including bruises or injuries, basic grooming and hygiene including appropriateness of dress, eye contact (including any changes in the previously listed issues), sex, chronological and apparent age, ethnicity, facial and body language, and congruence of language and facial or bodily expression.
